FBI Investigates Bitcoin Developer Event Connected to Luke Dashjr’s Hack
The FBI asked for this a year before but Mike couldn’t talk about it until now because of special rules.
He told the FBI about who came to the meeting because they were looking into how Luke Dashjr lost some of his Bitcoins. Mike had to give the FBI the names, online nicknames, and email addresses of the people who were there.
Mike said he didn’t know much about the investigation, like if they were looking at everyone or just some people because of Luke’s missing Bitcoins.
Mike also made a joke about how it was ironic that Luke, who knows a lot about Bitcoin, couldn’t keep his own Bitcoins safe, and because of what happened to him, the FBI ended up needing info about everyone at the meeting.
Luke Dashjr is someone who knows a lot about Bitcoin, but he lost almost all of his Bitcoins because someone broke into his digital security key right at the end of 2022. He lost over 200 Bitcoins, and with each Bitcoin worth a lot of money, he lost over $14.2 million.
