U.S. Gamers Largely Unaware of Blockchain Games, Survey Reveals
According to the survey, more than half of gamers believe they should receive a refund for the items they purchased if the game stops working. Also, 34% believe that gamers should get to vote on decisions like this. Interestingly, blockchain games already let you do these things.
Moreover, the survey showed that more than 60 games and 11 game-making companies will close down in 2023. This means gamers won’t get their money back for what they bought in these games. However, blockchain gaming might be a way to solve this problem.
The study also showed how much money gamers spend on game-related items. On average, a gamer spends $6,425.13 over their lifetime and about $8.74 on things like resources, weapons, and extra lives every month.
In other news, a game company named Unstoppable Games did this survey because they are starting a new game called Influence, which is based on something cool called Starknet.
Chris Lexmond, who started Unstoppable Games, said that gamers should be able to sell the things they buy in games and get some of their money back. He said blockchain games like Influence already let gamers do this.
