Trump’s Tax Plan: Trump thinks we shouldn’t pay federal income taxes anymore. Instead, he wants to get money from tariffs. Tariffs are like special fees that other countries pay when they send their stuff to the U.S. A long time ago, in the 1890s, a president named William McKinley used tariffs to help the country make a lot of money. Trump believes we could do something similar now to help America.
Concerns About Tariffs: Some people worry that tariffs might make things more expensive for everyone in the U.S. It’s like if your favorite candy suddenly cost more because of these fees. But Trump believes that tariffs would help keep jobs in America and make things we sell to other countries more popular.
Bitcoin and National Debt: Trump also has an idea to use Bitcoin, which is a type of digital money, to help pay off the country’s big debt of $35 trillion. He suggested that the U.S. could give some Bitcoin to people we owe money to and reduce our debt.
Challenges with Bitcoin: An expert named Bryan Courchesne says it could be possible to have a Bitcoin savings account for the U.S. government. This account could be filled with Bitcoins that the government already has. But there are some tricky rules and steps that would need to be figured out first.
Other Politicians’ Ideas: Trump’s ideas aren’t the only ones out there. Another person named Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also thought about using Bitcoin to help the U.S. dollar, but he isn’t running for president anymore.
