Kennedy Jr. Weighs in on Trump’s Conviction, Crypto Support at Consensus 2024
About Trump’s Trouble with the Law:
Kennedy Jr. didn’t want to talk about the legal problems of other people in politics, like former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden. He said, “My goal is to talk about bigger issues, especially health and money matters. I don’t want to get caught up in fights.”
What he thinks about Trump supporting digital money:
Kennedy Jr. said it was great that Trump supports digital money, seeing it as a step towards honesty and freedom. “No matter if it’s a political move, I think it’s great. I hope that President Biden does the same thing,” he said.
Problems with regulating digital money in the U.S.:
Kennedy Jr. said that people should be able to use digital money freely. He said, “We need to control our own digital wallets, and the digital money should be clear and easy to see. The U.S. should keep being a leader in the technology that supports digital money.” He promised to make rules to keep people from tricks and lies in the digital money world. He also said that he had bought 21 pieces of a type of digital money called bitcoins and bought three more for each of his kids.
About the future of digital money:
If I become President, I would want digital money to be used for buying and selling things. People should be free to decide if they want to invest in it or not,” Kennedy Jr. said. He doesn’t think digital money should be taxed like profit from selling things and said it should be used like regular money for everyday buying and selling.
Why he wants to be President:
Kennedy Jr. said that the government’s response to the sickness of COVID-19 made him want to go into politics. The closing of churches, businesses, and jury trials, along with what he saw as censorship and not following the Constitution, all made him want to run for President.
